handcuffed vs tied up bondage 50shades

This post is about what I have noticed about the subject of Handcuffs vs Rope. This subject has become very popular after the popular book 50 shades of Grey. Here is my thoughts/analysis

I have noticed that many people in the fetish scene put rope bondage on a pedestal, how do you feel about this? I posted this very same question on one of my blogs for kinky people on Fetlife and got some very different answers from people who feel very strongly about either cuffs or rope which I would like to share

Also, rope when done correctly, is far less likely to cause physical damage during a play scene such as struggling to escape. my Analysis, I believe both answers are correct:

Cuffs can be very elegant and sexy in a scene, and rope can be more of a ritual and very artistic, but one thing that is not included with rope is the security of the cold steel that comes with the tight metal handcuffs locked around someones wrist. There is no escaping tight handcuffs with out a key.

As far as injury, both rope and handcuffs can injure a person if being done carelessly. the problem is not with the rope or handcuffs, it is the person applying the handcuffs or rope often does not know what they are doing / never had any training and doesn't listen to how their partner is doing. Being tied up should be fun for both the the person applying the rope and the person tied up. Cheap rope can stretch and can leave a person with the rope getting to tight / causing loss of circulation which is way more dangerous than tight handcuffs. Handcuffs can be dangerous if cheap ones are bought from a sex store and the double lock is not used (keeps the handcuffs from getting tighter during a scene." DONT EVER BUY CUFFS FROM A SEX STORE.
